(KAIR)--Repair work is underway, but student life on the campus of Atchison's Benedictine College proceeds as normal, despite a gas line being struck late Monday afternoon.
College Spokesman Steve Johnson says crews are working to repair the damage, with Kansas Gas Service cutting the gas service off to the entire campus while that happens.
Johnson says the buildings remain open, including the cafeteria, where meals will be served at usual time. However, Johnson says it's a limited menu for the evening, with the gas shut-off limiting the meal selection.
The gas main was struck by a contractor at work on underway expansion behind the college cafeteria.
The college is set to open the fall semester on Wednesday.
