(KAIR)--Atchison police say a motorcycle reported stolen from Topeka last month has been recovered after an early Tuesday morning traffic stop which resulted in the arrest off 22-year-old Atchison resident Eric Ballard.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the stop happened around 4:00 after an officer on patrol spotted a pickup truck carrying a motorcycle pulling into the parking lot of a local motel, then leaving the scene a short time later without the motorcycle. An investigation ensued, and the motorcycle was soon located at a residence in the 400 block of North Ninth Street.
Police are searching for a second individual, who they believe was also in possession of the stolen motorcycle.
