Rare Documents On Display At Benedictine College

(KAIR)--An exhibit featuring some of the most rare documents in the world is on display at Atchison's Benedictine College, and the general public can see them all for free.

The exhibition from the Remnant Trust includes an extremely rare printing of the Declaration of Independence from 1776, a page from one of the first finished copies of the Gutenberg Bible from 1455 and a copy of the Magna Carta from 1576.

Benedictine President Stephen Minnis says that “having these rare documents on campus really enhances the academic nature of the school, as well as increasing our academic reputation around the country”.

Benedictine students will also have a chance to use the documents to further enhance their overall learning experience. Minnis says they “bring the liberal arts alive to our students...a lot of our students have studied these documents, but have never seen them in this type of a form before”.

The exhibit, which contains over thirty-five rare documents will be on display inside the Laughlin Rotunda in the Ferrell Academic Center on Benedictine's campus now through September 19th.

Benedictine will again showcase the exhibit October 13th-19th, and November 8th-14th.

The documents will be available for viewing weekdays afternoons from 4:00-8:00, Saturday from 10:00am-1:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am-1:00pm.
