(MSC News)--Three local area residents are among 134 new attorneys sworn in this week during a ceremony held at the Topeka Performing Arts Center.
Among the numerous names are Jessica Heinen, of Seneca, Jacob Wamego, of Mayetta, and Kevin Thompson, of Leavenworth.
The three, along with the other 131 new attorneys were administered the state oath by Heather Smith, clerk of the Kansas Supreme Court, and the federal oath by Tim O'Brien, clerk of the U.S. District Court.
Chief Justice Lawton Nuss presided over the Supreme Court during the ceremony while Magistrate Judge K. Gary Sebelius represented the U.S. District Court.
