(KAIR)--The court case involving an Atchison couple, accused of taking financial advantage of a dependent family member, moves forward.
47-year-old Dennis Thummel and his 42-year-old wife, Nancy, appeared in Atchison County District Court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing where numerous witnesses provided testimony pertaining to the case. After nearly four hours, they were bound over for arraignment on October 10th.
The Thummels were arrested last March following a police investigation. It's alleged the couple had been taking financial advantage of a 24-year-old live-in family member. They face one felony count each of mistreatment of a dependent adult.
It's alleged the crime took place between July 2007 and September 2012.
