(KAIR)--Atchison County officials have announced the hiring of Atchison native Jamie Madison as the county's new Human Resources Director, effective October 13th.
Commissioners made the announcement after a special meeting, held last week.
According to Commission Chair Jeff Schuele, Madison was one of 33 candidates to go through an intense hiring process, which included a three panel interview session.
Schuele says that Madison will be responsible for taking care of accounts payable and payroll for the county, as well as overseeing employee benefits.
Madison takes over a position that has been vacant since Chris Channel resigned in June.
