Buchanan County Receives Disaster Grant
10/03/2014

(KAIR)--A federal grant leaves Buchanan County, Missouri better prepared for times of disaster.

KQ2-TV reports that the Department of Homeland Security has granted the County's Long-Term Recovery Committee $7,500 to purchase a new trailer, which comes equipped with a wide range of disaster recovery tools, including chainsaws and generators.

Following the flood of 2011, the Long-Term Recovery Committee, and its volunteers, found themselves without the necessary tools and supplies to complete recovery efforts.

The committee works with volunteers from more than a dozen Buchanan County based churches that assist in times of need.
