(KMZA)--A free educational workshop on suicide prevention will be held in Seneca later this month.
“Understanding Suicide: Why We Lost Robin Williams” will take place on Monday, October 20th at the Community Building in Seneca from 6:00-8:30 in the evening.
The program is designed to help participants increase knowledge of patterns and trends of suicide in the Midwest and United States; aid in recognizing suicidal behavior and intervening appropriately; and learn methods of suicide prevention in the community.
The guest speaker will be Duane Olberding, Executive Director of Professional Treatment Services LLC, with clinics located in both Lawrence and Topeka. Professional Treatment Services is an outpatient treatment program specializing in chemical and behavioral addictions with both adolescent and adult programs.
The free event is sponsored by NAMI Pony Express and the Northeast Kansas Suicide Prevention Committee.
