(KTNC)-- The bi-annual Falls City Community clean-up is this weekend.
Falls City Sanitation and Koelzer Salvage will take large items that are too big for personal trash removal – such as furniture, metal items, and grills – at the city parking lot near Prichard Auditorium. They will also collect used oil during the collection, which is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Also as part of the fall clean-up, Paper Tiger Shredding will be at the Falls City Library from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday. People can bring documents to be shredded during that time.
Five Rivers RC-and-D is sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Falls City, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the city parking lot near Prichard Auditorium. Items that will be accepted include cleaning products, lawn and garden chemicals, paint, pesticides, herbicides, used oil, fluorescent light bulbs, and anti-freeze. A Household Hazardous Waste Collection will also be held in Humboldt, at the County Shop on South Nemaha Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday.
Organizers of the Falls City clean-up remind residents that the Richardson County Sheriff's Department has a drug take-back box for unused prescriptions – and illegal drugs – on the first floor of the Richardson County Courthouse.
Full recycling is available at the Recycling Center at 6th and Stone Street.
The next Falls City community clean-up is scheduled for the third week in April 2015.
