Falls City Council Approves Fee for Power Line Project

(KLZA)-- Falls City Council members approved a letter of agreement with Olsson Associates during their meeting this week to pay the company $37,900 to manage an electrical improvement project in Falls City.  This part of the agreement would be to eliminate phasing problems that exist between the north and south sections of the city.  Approval was recommended by the Board of Public Works. 

 
A service / consultant agreement with Southeast Nebraska Development District in the amount of $6,700 to aid with the 2014 Downtown Revitalization Planning Agreement as approved.
 
Council members also approved allowing an exception that will allow
Charles Herbster to use a 50-foot by 50-foot area of land on his property northwest of Falls City, but within the cities one-mile jurisdiction as a private burial plot.  The city approval allows the plot in an Agricultural Zoning District.   The cemetery section will have to meet all Nebraska State Statutes.  
 
Mayor Tim Hersh’s re-appointment of Roy Murphy to the Board of Public Works was also approved as was a request to block 27th Street between Crook and Abbott Streets for a block party on October 11th.  
 
Approval for Lowell and Mary Eickhoff to construct a metal garage at 1701 Fulton Street was also approved.
