(KNZA)--Although the City of Hiawatha is decorated, and ready, for the 100th Halloween Frolic on Friday, there's one spooky sight that will not be tolerated: litter and grime on the city's streets.
In order to eradicate the problem, the city-owned street sweeper will be used to clean Oregon Street, from 4th to 9th, and 6th and 7th Streets, from Delaware to Utah.
Sidewalks will also be cleaned, with crews beginning the effort at midnight on October 30th and November 1st.
In order to get the work done, all vehicles are to be removed from the affected streets during the duration of the street sweeping.
Any questions should be directed to Hiawatha's Public Works Department at 785-742-3196.
