(KNZA)--Turns out the decision wasn’t final.
Last week the Nemaha County Commission accepted a bid from Kansas City Peterbilt for the purchase of two new trucks for the road and bridge department.
However, County Road and Bridge Supervisor Dennis Ronnebaum informed commissioners this week the county would not get the trucks until March of next year. He also said that Peterbilt changed the price they would allow for trade-in of the county’s 2009 Mack truck from $75,000 to $60,000.
Due to the new information, the commission voted to rescind the motion made last week to accept the bid from Peterbilt. Instead, the commission approved a bid from Kenworth for the purchase of two new trucks at a total cost of $165,650. The motion also allows for an increase of $7,600 in the price approved last week from Kranz Equipment for the purchase of two truck beds to include stainless steel beds.
In other business, the commission gave Nemaha County Training Center Director Alice Lackey permission to move forward with a project to replace the flooring at the Sabetha Training Center location. The commission approved a quote from Epoxy Coating Specialists in the amount of $43,500.
