(KLZA)-- The 8th Annual Jingle Bell Ride will take place Sunday in Falls City. The Jingle Bell Ride is a Christmas Toy Drive to benefit children and families served by Southeast Nebraska Community Action.
Horse drawn wagons, horses and riders, golf carts, 4-wheelers and other modes of transportation will gather at Prichard Auditorium at noon to register then head out at 1 p-m to the homes of people that have called in to have their donations picked up.
This years event will be utilizing Prichard Auditorium. There will be food and beverages at the Auditorium along with activities for the entire family.
The Jingle Bell Ride has teamed up with Thrivent Financial’s Championing Charities program this year. You can stop by the Auditorium and drop off a donation to the charities of your choice.
The three charities receiving the most donations in their stockings will have those donations supplemented up to $300 for first, $200 for second and $100 for third by Thrivent Financial. A coat drive is also part of the event.
SENCA provides food for families in need throughout the year and is especially busy at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Last year for Christmas SENCA served 105 families. There were 85 stops for the Jingle Bell Ride last year and the goal this year is 100 stops.
For more information, or to have the Jingle Bell Ride stop at your home to pick up a donation you may contact Sherry Huddleston at 402-8001-1811 or contact Melissa Hardenberger at the SENCA office at 402-245-5284.
