Auburn Home Damaged by Fire
11/11/2014

(KLZA)-- The Auburn Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at approximately 4:45 a-m Sunday morning.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Clark the fire was at 612, 14th Street, a home owned by Mike Hoak.  There were three people asleep in the home when the fire started.  All were able to get out safely with no injuries reported.

Assistant Chief Clark said it appears a candle left burning in the kitchen was the cause of the fire that caused an estimated $20,000 damage to the home.

A dozen Auburn firefighters responded to the call.  The Johnson Fire Department brought in one truck as mutual aid with two firemen responding from Johnson.

Firemen were on the scene for an hour and 20 minutes.
