12/04/2014

(KMZA)--Nemaha County Commissioners are considering placing a sales tax question on the ballot.
Commissioners on Monday spoke with County Attorney Brad Lippert about the possibility of putting a sales tax question on the ballot to help fund health care services in the county.
Lippert said he would send Commissioners a copy of the question used recently by another county for the same purpose.
In other business, further discussion was held on the implementation of a countywide Neighborhood Revitalization Plan in the county.
Meeting with commissioners to discuss the matter was Lyle Peterson with the Kansas Department of Commerce, Nancy Gafford with the Rural Development Association of Northeast Kansas and County Appraiser Betty Roeder.
Following discussion, the Commission advised Gafford to proceed with the draft of a Neighborhood Revitalization Plan for the county.
