(KAIR)--The spirit of Christmas will be alive and well in Atchison this weekend, as the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce presents their fourth annual Sights and Sounds of Christmas event.
Chamber President Jacque Pregont says it all kicks off at 10:30 Saturday morning, when Santa Claus arrives at his house, located in the 500 block of Commercial Street. All other attractions will start at noon, and Pregont says there are many to choose from including horse drawn sleigh rides, Cinderella carriage rides, Santa's workshop, face painting, puppet shows, and the Dance with Me performers will also be putting on a dance show.
The event will wrap up at 5:30 with the traditional Parade of lights. The parade will start at Memorial Hall, go down Commercial Street, turn down Seventh Street, turn again in front of the post office and go down Kansas Avenue down to Fourth Street.
Pregont adds that she believes that the predicted weather conditions will contribute to the success of the event.
Each activity is free and open to the public.
