(KAIR)--Atchison residents will gather at the Veteran's Memorial Park, near the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial this weekend to remember those who lost their lives during the December 7th, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Fred Gage, who helped organize the event, says the event has been held since 2010 when the Arizona Memorial was dedicated.
Gage adds there will be several presentations that will honor those who died including an invocation, music, and a presentation concerning the attack on Pearl Harbor. The names of those Kansas residents killed in the attack will also be read.
The ceremony is being presented by the Pershing Chapter of the MOAA, with the help of the Atchison Jared Fox Jackson VFW Post. The program will start at 12-noon Sunday and will be open to the public. All veterans are encouraged to attend.
