12/08/2014

(KLZA)-- Justin Stine with JEO Engineers and Water Operator Ken Kuhlman met with the Humboldt City Council last week to discuss the problem the City is having with the chlorination at the City water plant. City Clerk Connie Laflin said the contractor that built the plant will be brought back to try and figure out what is causing the problem which has the City needing to add extra chlorine to the water.

A committee has been formed to work out an agreement, including cost for the City of Humboldt to supply water to Richardson County Rural Water District #1. Ben Steffen and Dave Harlow with the Rural Water District and Crystal Dunekacke and Jason James are representing the City.

The Humboldt Council also approved the purchase of a used street sweeper for the City.  A 2009 Johnston Street Sweeper will be purchased from Rose Equipment in Lincoln at a cost of $69,750.
