Richardson County Board Reviews Jail Proposal Items

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners have approved a quote for the Geothermal test well and thermal conductivity test for the renovation of the Armory for a Jail / Law Enforcement Center in an amount of $6,605.  Rieschick Drilling of Falls City submitted the quote. 

Commissioners also spent more time reviewing an agreement proposed by Prochaska & Associates to serve as the architects for the proposed Law Enforcement facility. No action was taken.

Board members continued the review of a request from Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Dixon to change job descriptions and proposed salary increases for Emergency Management Agency Staff.  No action was taken. 

David Branch with the Falls City Main Street program met with Commissioners offering a cost-sharing for renovations of the sidewalk on the west side of the Richardson County Courthouse.  Commissioners will review the proposed project.

The Board voted to enter into an agreement with Spyglass Group to perform an audit of the County telecommunication charges to determine if there are fees and or taxes being wrongfully charged by the carriers. 

Southeast Nebraska Community Action Outreach Office Manager Melissa Hardenberger met with the Board to provide a brief update on activity taking place within the organization, which affects residents of Falls City and the surrounding communities.  She noted 96 persons have been assisted by the programs and services offered through the Falls City office.
