New Pawnee City Leaders Sworn In

(KLZA)--  Deb Klein has been sworn in as Mayor of Pawnee City.  Klein, who has served two terms on the City Council, takes over from Duane Westing who served two terms as Mayor, but did not seek re-election. 

Also sworn in this week was new City Councilman Mark Sunneberg Jr. and Charlie Hatfield who was re-elected to a third term on the Pawnee City Council. 

Tamela Stephens was re-appointed as City Clerk-Treasurer.  Joe Stehlik re-appointed City Attorney with Jennifer Stehlik-Ladman serving as Deputy City Attorney. Evan Wickersham with JEO Consulting will serve as Street Supervisor and JEO Consulting will continue as Consulting Engineer.

Councilman Charlie Hatfield was appointed to be in charge of streets, alley’s and crossings.

Councilman Sunneberg was placed in charge of parks, recreation and the pool and was appointed to the Tree Board.

Councilman John Dahlgren will remain in charge of the sewer and library and was appointed to serve on the Pawnee City Development Corporation.

Council member Sandi Corbitt-Sears will be the new Water Commissioner, will stay on the Fire Board and serves on the Animal Control Board and the Health Board.

Mayor Klein and Councilman Hatfield will stay on the Law Enforcement Committee.
