(KAIR)--The holiday shopping season has been very good to the Atchison business community.
That, according to Atchison Chamber of Commerce President Jacque Pregont, who says that the recent surge in business can be at least partially attributed to the Small Business Saturday promotion the Chamber presented just a few weeks ago. She says that the businesses that she has talked to had a pretty good Saturday. Also, the Chamber had more gift certificates to give away than they have ever had before during their annual Small Business Saturday promotion, but Pregont says this was expected.
Pregont adds that while there will be some challenges in the future, they are positive moving forward and are working hard with Atchison's Economic Development Department, seeing what they can do to attract more people to the downtown area. “Attitude is everthing”, says Pregont, “we are going to find a way to make it work”.
Pregont says that recent Chamber holiday events such as the Ladies Night Out, Holiday Cash, and the Cookie Walk, have also contributed to the increase in business.
