Local Judicial District Getting New Equipment

(KNZA)--The 22nd Judicial District, which covers four local northeast Kansas counties, will be getting new court reporters equipment.
Chief Judge Jim Patton told the Brown County Commission Monday that the some of the current equipment is more than 15 years old and needs to be updated.
Patton said the new equipment, which is to be purchased before the end of the year, will include software, recording units, computers and a tower. 
The about $14,000 cost for the new equipment will come from the Court Trustee Fund.    
Court reporters create transcripts of legal proceedings.
The 22nd Judicial District includes Brown, Doniphan, Nemaha and Marshall Counties.
