(KAIR)--The Atchison County Sheriff's Department is investigating a theft of several thousand dollars worth of copper and aluminum from a barn that took place last week.
According to Sheriff Jack Laurie, 62-year-old David August reported that nearly $7,000 worth of different types of copper and aluminum wire had been stolen from a barn on his property, located on 4384 Philips Road. August believes the theft took place sometime early November and December 18th when he discovered it missing.
Officials do not yet have any suspects in the case, but the search for leads continues.
