(KNZA)--An arrest is made following an early Sunday morning altercation on the Kickapoo Reservation, west of Horton.
Kickapoo Tribal Police Chief Michael Dougherty says officers responded to 1110 Golden Eagle Road, around 5:15, when they received a report of a domestic disturbance that involved a criminal threat with a weapon.
When they arrived, officers say they were met by family members fleeing from the residence while the suspect, identified as Joseph Simon, retreated inside.
As police began to prepare for a standoff, Dougherty says Simon ran from the rear of the house and made his way down the street to the residence of a relative. Police were later able to make contact with him and take him into custody without any further incident.
Simon was booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery, felony obstruction and criminal threat.
The Horton and Sac and Fox Police Departments, along with the Brown and Jackson County Sheriff's Departments, assisted at the scene.
