(KAIR)--A continuance has been granted in the case of a couple accused of passing multiple forged checks across several locations in Kansas and Missouri.
31-year-old Leavenworth resident Amanda Warren, and 51-year-old Lee Warren of Topeka, appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon, and judge Martin Asher set a new court date of January 23rd following a request from the couple's attorneys.
The Warrens were arrested in Lansing last month following an investigation by the Atchison Police Department. The couple allegedly manufactured false checks and false identifications to go with them. Investigators believe they were able to pass the forged checks in several Kansas cities including Manhattan, Kansas City, Topeka, Ottawa, and Lawrence, as well as Buchanan County, Missouri.
