(KLZA)-- The Falls City Area Jaycees presented their annual Distinguished Service Awards Monday night.
Shawn Fouraker was presented the Distinguished Service Award.
Falls City High School teacher Lori Rech was named the Outstanding Educator. Rod Vandeberg was presented the Community Leader Award. The Boss of the Year Award was presented to Rachel Witt of Dickies Barbecue. The Good Neighbor Award was presented to Bernice Kopetzky.
The Robert J. Chab Community Service Award was presented to Chip Ebel
The Hugh O’Brien Youth Awards are presented to a sophomore form Falls City High School and Sacred Heart. This years winners are Aaron Kurpgeweit, son of Lee and Denise Kurpgeweit, from Falls City High and Jade Hill, daughter of Dan and Beth Hill from Sacred Heart.
In addition to the awards, the Jaycees presented donations to a number of organizations in the community. Donations were made to: The Middle School Clown Troop, Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Falls City Recreation Ball Field Fund, Falls City Swim Team; Falls City Trap Shooters, Falls City Travelers Softball, Richardson County Humane Society, Itha Krumme Memorial Arboretum, the Library Fund, 4-H Foundation, Red Cross Blood Mobile, Red Cross Swim Fund,
Richardson County Cancer Fund, Richardson County CPR, Falls City Rural Fire Department, Falls City Volunteer Fire Department, Rulo Fire Department, Verdon Fire Department, Shubert Fire Department and the SENCA Backpack Program.
