(MSC News)--Much of the local region is being placed under a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect from 3 until 9:00 Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service expects that a quick hitting storm system will bring the threat for accumulating snowfall to the area Tuesday morning. The potential exists for a few quick inches of fresh snow during peak travel times before snow comes
to an end later in the day.
Accumulating snow may lead to deteriorating travel conditions Tuesday morning.
Snow will begin near the nebraska border by 3 am and quickly move southeast, coming to an end in northern Kansas by 9 am.
Total snow accumulations up to 2 inches is expected.
The snow will not last long, but may be heavy at times, and cause a difficult morning commute with hazardous travel conditions likely in the locations affected by this narrow band of snow.
Wind gusts of 10 to 20 mph are expected during and shortly after the snowfall.
