Atchison County native Jeff Schuele, shown here in this MSC News file photo, has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Live Well, Live Atchison.
(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission is considering a possible reconfiguration plan for the County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center.
Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says a new plan is necessary in order to accommodate the planned upgrade to the county's joint communications system. The upgrade is requiring more space than was originally anticipated. The current system is located in a space not originally designed for joint communications.
Schuele adds that one possible solution would be to have the current County Commission room reconfigured to house the new system.
Schuele says the Commission would have to find a new place to meet, likely in the courthouse. Discussions on the plan are ongoing, and are expected to continue into March.
