(KNZA)--A rural Troy man convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the August 2013 shooting death of his roommate will have to wait awhile longer to learn his fate.
The sentencing for Eric Burge was continued Wednesday in Doniphan County District court to March 25th.
Burge pleaded “ no contest” in January to the amended charge. In exchange for the plea, three other charges were dismissed.
Burge had originally been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 25-year-old Matthew Sollars. Sollars died August 13th, 2013, one day after the shooting at a residence where the two men resided southwest of Troy.
Burge was arrested in October 2013 following an investigation by the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department and Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
