(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners met Tuesday with representatives of the Falls City Ambulance Squad.
Gary Jorn, Chip Ebel and Jim Gerweck, officers of the Ambulance Squad requested Commissioners consider funding the Ambulance Squad in the future.
Concerning a grievance filed by Julie Houser, Commissioners determined that Houser is still considered a temporary part-time employee and will be called and scheduled to work as a jailer / dispatcher, as needed.
Commissioners again reviewed a proposal from Constructors, Inc. to do an additional three miles of asphaltic concrete overlay on 656 Avenue with an additional cost to the County of $471,000. A contract was previously approved for three miles of work on the road. The Board approved the added work and will approve a change order to the original contract before the project begins.
Only one bid was received for the Dawson Bridge Project and the County Line project. The bid for the Dawson Bridge Project from Gus Construction of Casey, Iowa was $356,854. The same company submitted a bid for the County Line project in the amount of $348,885. The bid was rejected.
County Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt met with the Board regarding real estate tax certificates that had been sold and a listing of the unsold certificates were reviewed. Discussion was also held on collection procedures of delinquent taxes from corporations and companies.
