(KNZA)--A groundbreaking ceremony has been set for the construction of the new Holton Elementary School.
USD 336 has announced the ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at 1 in the afternoon.
During a special board of education meeting this week, the Holton Recorder reports the Board approved a guaranteed maximum price of $17.7 million from Olathe-based Nabholz Construction Services for construction of the new 80,000-square-foot school.
Voters in the Holton school district last May approved a $21.5 million bond issue for the construction of the new school, which will replace both of the district’s two existing elementary schools.
Construction of the new school is anticipated to be complete around May 31st, 2016.
