(KMZA)--An investigation is launched following the illegal slaughter of a cow in recent weeks.
According to the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office, someone killed the black heifter, located on property a-half mile west of P Road and 176th Road, sometime between February 26th and February 27th.
Whoever is responsible for killing the animal also removed large portions of the heifer's meat.
The value of the cow is estimated at $1,500.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Nemaha County Sheriff's Department.
