(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission is one step closer to purchasing a new ambulance for the county.
Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says that Holton based Techs Inc., which provides ambulance services for the county, presented Commissioners with a bid selection during their meeting Tuesday. The preliminary bid is for $175,000 for a new ambulance that Schuele says doesn't come “with the most bells and whistles...it's also not the bare bones package.”
Schuele says the Commission is also looking to purchase two new heart monitors at a cost of about $47,000.
Commissioner Bill Pohl was not present at the meeting due to an illness, and Schuele says a vote on the bids is not expected until he returns.
