(KLZA)-- Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for January shows a slight decline from December 2014 rate, to 2.9 percent. This represents the second best rate in the country behind the 2.8 percent unemployment rate in North Dakota.
South Dakota is third at 3.7 percent. Colorado, Iowa and Kansas are tied for 12th at 4.2 percent. Missouri is tied for 25th with a jobless rate of 5.5-percent.
For January Pawnee County has the best unemployment rate at 2.6 percent. Nemaha County had a jobless rate of 3.9 percent, Johnson County 4.2 percent, Richardson County 4.3 percent and Gage County was a 4.5 percent.
Most of the jobless rates for counties were slightly lower than in January 2014.
