Two Iowa Residents Injured in Holt County MO. Wreck

(KLZA)-- Two Sheldon, Iowa residents were injured Friday afternoon when their car was totaled in a wreck with a semi-truck in Holt County, Missouri. 

63-year old Susan Meyers was driving south, in the passing lane on Interstate 29 approximately six miles north of Craig, Missouri when her car skidded and swerved to the right to avoid a slow moving vehicle also in the passing lane. When the car went into the driving lane, it was struck in the right rear by a semi-truck driven by 46-year old Sidney Brown of Bono, Arkansas.  Brown was not injured. 

The Meyers car traveled off the right side of the road, and rolled several times down an embankment coming to rest on its wheels.  The semi was able to come to a controlled stop. 

Susan Meyers sustained what were described as minor injures and a passenger in the car, 63-year old Larry Meyers sustained moderate injuries.  Both were transported to a St. Joseph hospital by ambulance.  Sidney Brown, the drive of the truck was not injured.

The car was totaled and the semi sustained only minor damage in the wreck. 

The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated the wreck with the assistance of the Holt County Sheriff’s Office.
