(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission has hired a new Road and Bridge Superintendent for the county, ending a nearly two month search.
Commission Chair Bill Pohl says Commissioners voted unanimously during a meeting Tuesday afternoon to hire Seth Howard for the position.
Pohl says that Howard brings a wealth of training and experience to the job. He has worked for Westar Energy as well as Bottorff Construction, and has attended the School of Construction at Pittsburgh State University.
Pohl adds that Howard will also undergo additional training relevant to the position. He says that “one of the requirements that the Commissioners made, at the county's expense, in January there is a CPN class, and that will teach him a little bit more about how to do county business, how to get permitting and stuff like that.” Howard will also take part in state training.
Howard replaces Matt Dorssom, who left the county in April to take a job with a local company.
