(KLZA)-- The Mound City Board of Education has amended the final budget for the 2014-15 Fiscal Year to create the preliminary budget for the 2015-16 Fiscal Year. The action took place during the Board meeting this week.
Dave Villines, Building Project Manager for the Mound City School addition updated the Board on the progress of the H-VAC system, elevator and the subsurface work for the multi-purpose room.
Board members approved the Apple Bus bid with a two percent increase for the next two years, which runs through the 2016-17 school year.
In other action the Board reviewed the Title I program and discussed parent, teacher and student surveys. It was noted that 93 percent of the Mound City School students in grades K-4 are reading at or above grade level.
Superintendent Ken Eaton informed the Board that custodian Tom Gladman has resigned. Board members did approved the minutes of the April 15th executive session in which a bid for a property north of the school boundary line at 806 Nebraska Street was approved.
