Cuts Coming To KS Army Bases
07/09/2015

Senator Jerry Moran

(MSC News)--Cuts are coming to Kansas Army Bases.

That follows the Army's announcement Thursday regarding force strength reductions at bases across the country.

Locally, that includes Fort Leavenworth, where 60 troop positions will be lost between fiscal year 2015 and fiscal year 2017.

At Fort Riley, reductions mean a loss of 615 troop positions during that same time period.

U.S. Senator Jerry Moran Thursday released the reduction figures, saying the Kansas losses are minimal, proving the Army understands the contributions the two state locations make to national security.
