Richardson Co Designated Livestock Friendly
07/24/2015

(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners voted unanimously this week to adopt a resolution to designated Richardson County as a Livestock Friendly County.  The resolution will now be forwarded on to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

The Board also voted to enter into a contract for the purchase of real estate from Caroline Sailors. The County is purchasing 1.35 acres a mile-and-a-half northwest of Barada. A tower the County purchased on a tax auction will be used to hopefully improve radio communications for the Sheriff’s Office and Richardson County Road Department. Richardson County is paying $10,125 for the land.

Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert told Commissioners that construction on the Stella Southeast bridge construction project is 30 – 45 days behind schedule due to the heavy rainfall received in the area. Huppert said he had met with FEMA representatives last week to review areas of damage from the heavy rainfall this spring and early summer. He also discussed the possibility of purchasing used pickup from SENTCO for the Road Department.
