(KNZA)--A 5-year-old St. Joseph girl who was pulled from a Kansas City area lake last week has died.
Nevaeh Boston died early Saturday morning at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Boston wandered away from her family as they were swimming at the public swim area at Watkins Mill State Park Thursday afternoon. She was later found underwater by other swimmers at the park.
The girl was pulled from the water and rushed to Excelsior Springs Hospital then flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Mercy.
Services for Boston will be held Thursday morning at 11 at the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in St. Joseph.
