(KAIR)--A preliminary hearing has been set for an Effingham teen, facing several charges stemming from an injury wreck that took place in June.
19-year-old Zakkery Hollands appeared in Atchison County District Court Friday morning, where his attorney requested that the hearing be pushed back a few weeks, so that he would have more time to follow up with potential witnesses. The judge agreed, and set the hearing for October 16th.
Hollands, along with 18-year-old Brandon Olberding, of Everest, were arrested last month on a charge of aggravated battery, in addition to several other traffic related charges.
The charges stem from a June 28th wreck on Highway 9 near Monrovia. Hollands and Olberding were allegedly driving dirt bikes without headlights, and collided head on. Hollands, and a passenger on Olberding's bike, 19-year-old Megan Galley, of Atchison, were injured in the wreck, and transported to area hospitals for treatment.
