(KAIR)--The case of an Atchison woman, arrested after a drug bust by the Atchison County Sheiff's Department, has been continued.
20-year-old Samantha Bruckerhoff-Crowell made her first appearance with her attorney in Atchison County District Court Friday. Her attorney requested more time to prepare for the case, and a new hearing date was set for September 25th. She is facing charges of distributing marijuna within 1,000 feet of a school, interference with a law enforcement officer, driving while suspended, and aggravated endangering a child.
Bruckerhoff-Crowell, along with 28-year-old Dale Rogers were arrested last month after a controlled purchase of marijuana was arranged by the Sheriff's Department. The two suspects met deputies in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, where the purchase, and the arrest took place.
After the hearing, Bruckerhoff-Crowell was taken into custody on a District Court warrant on charges stemming from a traffic stop that Police Chief Mike Wilson says took place in April of this year after “she was stopped driving a vehicle in the area of Fourth and Kansas Avenue. She received a citation under the name of a 25-year-old female. It was later determined that she was not the person she reported to be, she actually had the driver's license of another person. When that was determined, she was charged with a number of charges, which included identity fraud as well as driving while suspended and other traffic offenses.”
Bruckerhoff-Crowell was released from the Atchison County Jail Friday afternoon after posting a bond of $10,000.
