(KNZA)--The Brown County Republican Committee will hold a convention on Thursday, September 17th to elect someone to fill the unexpired term of the late Debbie Parker as County Clerk.
Committee Chairman Nathan Bunck said the Committee will meet at 7 that evening in the courtroom at the Brown County Courthouse.
The name of the person elected will be forwarded to Governor Sam Brownback for appointment to fill the term expiring in January 2017. The position is up for election in November 2016.
Parker, who had served as county clerk since 2000, died August 28th at the age of 59.
