(Nebraska City, Neb.)- Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Headquarters Troop-Lincoln will conduct a special enforcement effort in Otoe County, Saturday, Sept. 19.
The special enforcement designed to reduce the potential for serious injury and fatality crashes will include high visibility patrols along with a vehicle check. A $1,650 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) will help pay for overtime hours utilized during the enforcement.
“The potential exists over the weekend for increased traffic volume in the area,” said Captain Sean Caradori, Commander Headquarters Troop. “By increasing our presence we hope to encourage voluntary compliance with all traffic safety laws.”
Motorists are reminded to obey the posted speed limits, always wear their seat belt and never driver impaired or distracted. Impaired or reckless drivers can be reported to the Nebraska State Patrol Highway Helpline by dialing *55 when safe to do so from any cell phone, or 1-800-525-5555 from any landline. Emergencies should be reported to 911
Capt. Caradori said, “Please partner with us in helping keep our roads safe.”
