Nemaha Co Receives Dividend Check

(KMZA)--The Nemaha County Commission Monday received a dividend check from the county’s insurance carrier.

Jim Runnebaum with SBS Insurance Services presented the check for just over $27,000 from EMC Insurance Company to the Commission.

In other business, the Commission gave Appraiser Betty Roeder approval to purchase two computers and a scanner for her office from Computer Information Concepts for a total of $5,400. 

Kristin Watkins and Kristina Romine came before the board on behalf of the Northeast Kansas Multi-County Health Department. They informed Commissioners that their agency will now be taking care of day care/preschool licensing in Nemaha County.

And Sheriff Rich Vernon informed Commissioners he still taking applications for a deputy position and a dispatcher position in the Sheriff’s Department. He said he would allow applications to be submitted for another couple weeks.
