Leavenworth Organization Receives Funding From State Grant
09/30/2015

(KAIR)--A Leavenworth based family welfare organization is one of seventeen across the state that will received a portion of a nearly $1 million in state grants as part of the 2016 Children's Advocacy Centers grant program.

Governor Sam Brownback announced Wednesday that the Alliance Against Family Violence will receive just over $44,000 in funding from the program, which is funded by state general funds.  Child Advocacy Programs are child-focused, community oriented programs that work to coordinate investigation and intervention services for abused children.

Grant awards provide the funding to hire and train staff to provide abuse victims with a wide range of needed services.
