(KNZA)--Formal charges are filed against a 34-year-old area man accused of the abuse of a child.
Michael McAfee, identified as a resident of the Kickapoo Reservation, was arrested October 16th by Horton Police on a Brown County Warrant issued in connection with the case.
Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill tells MSC News McAfee is charged with abuse of a child, aggravated child endangerment and battery.
Hill says the charges stem from the alleged beating of a child born in 2004 that was under McAfee's care.
Booked into the Brown County Jail following his arrest, and held on a bond of $25,000, McAfee has since bonded out.
A preliminary hearing in the Brown County case has been set for October 28th.
