10/22/2015

(KLZA)-- The Humboldt City Council this week met with members of the Auditorium Board to discuss proposals for architectural and engineering work for the Humboldt Auditorium renovation project.

Two proposals have been submitted, one by Peters & Associates and the other by Treanor Architecture.  No action was taken during the meeting.

An update was received by the Council on Nuisance Code Enforcement. Council members voted to continue monitoring two properties for improvement; send two notices to property owners directing them to abate the nuisance, resolution were passed to publish intent to abate two nuisances and the Humboldt City Attorney was directed to file civil action against two properties.

One of the nuisances is antique machinery, two of the nuisances are buildings and the rest are houses.

It was reported that the Rural Water District has now paid operational expenses for water. The Rural Water District will now pay the fees monthly.  The USDA is still in the process of determining engineering costs on the water project to be split between the City of Humboldt and Rural Water District.

Permission was granted to the Friends of the Library to host Bingo in the Fire Hall during the window opening downtown and to use the Lake Park for a wedding.
