(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Council held more discussion concerning debris from buildings that burned downtown recently. Research discovered that Eileen Hines is actually the owner of the properties. Jerry Grahmn has been doing some of the cleanup work of the properties. Three licensed demolition contractors have been contacted about cleaning up the debris.
A 30-0day timeline for cleaning up the property went into effect Friday, October 23rd when Hines signed for a registered letter from the City. Stephens says Hines has been in contact with an attorney.
The City is concerned about safety with debris on the sidewalk and due to how the walls still standing are attached to buildings next door.
The Pawnee City Council approved continuing to be a part of the Four County Diversion Program as a Community Service Partner.
Council members also tabled action concerning sealed bids for a loader for Pawnee City. Financing options will be considered along with having another mechanic take a look at the issues with the current city loader.
It is expected a decision on what to do about fixing the current loader or getting another one will be made in the near future.
