(KNZA)--An unusual wreck Sunday afternoon in Holt County, Missouri claimed the life of a Forest City, Missouri man.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 60-year-old Harold Macrander was attempting to start a homemade three-wheel motorcycle that was being towed by a pickup truck on Missouri Route 111 in Forest City when the wreck happened.
The motorcycle began running under its own power. The throttle was struck open and the motorcycle overtook the pickup. The towing device remained attached to both vehicles, causing the motorcycle to be pulled into the front of the truck.
The motorcycle overturned, ejecting Macrander. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver was not hurt.
The wreck was reported shortly after 12:15.
